‘How many chocolate bars are there in the world?’ is a 10-12 minute short drama (live action, not animation!) which tells the story of Dylan, a lonely man, who is trapped in a repetitive daily routine that keeps him from connecting with the world.
But nine-year-old Tilda, unknown to Dylan, watches him from her hospital bed as he works and helps him to get out of his routine by writing him questions and requesting answering photos, so she can see the world through those photos. With each ‘task’ Dylan connects a little more with the world and opens himself up to new experiences until… he finds no question.
This project is going to be my graduation film for my MA in Film Directing at the Edinburgh College of Art. The shoot will probably be at the end of March 2013 in Edinburgh.
The story and the characters mean a lot to me, since I am convinced that everyone gets lost in his or her own daily routine sometimes. Then it is important to have someone who shows you another perspective of the world and opens your mind to really SEE the things in front of you.
To make the film as good as possible we will need some financial help, since this is a student project. But we are aiming for the production to be made in the most professional way possible and produce a terrific film which will be submitted to a wide range of international film festivals. For me it’s not just my graduation film but a film that is very close to my heart!
That’s why we need your help!
Your funds will be used for the following aspects of production and distribution:
- Travel expenses (mainly for Cast)
- Catering
- Transport
- Production Design (Props, Costumes, Set Design)
- Make Up
- Festival Submission Fees
Thanks sooo much for your help!
All the best,
Sarah
