We are bringing  700 folk to a community of 100 to share the Knoydart experience and a weekend of music....quite simply we miss out on live music events so we are doing it ourselves and inviting you to support us.

Knoydart is a peninsula on the west coast of Scotland.  Everything has to come by boat or a 3 day hike across the hills, and that includes the music festival.

We will be shipping in bands and their equipment, marquees, toilets, food for the masses, a bar and booze, stages, lighting, security, tents and yurts, generators and the majority of the audience.

A few days later we will pack it all away and ship it out again....Why do we do it?  Why do we bother?

Because it is one of those weekends that is just magic and worth every bit of hard work and hassle - a year's worth for the main organisers. It is volunteer run from selling tickets before the event to selling beer at it, to actually building the bar ... it is a true community enterprise.  And all of these volunteers support the festival by paying for their tickets too.

You come in to it, because unfortunately we were unsuccessful on three funding bids and ticket sales alone will not be enough to cover the costs.  So the organisers will be left to meet the shortfall.

Yes, the festival is still going ahead, it's on the 26th to the 28th of April, and we sold out of our tickets just 5 days of going on sale.  This is fantastic and shows what support we have.

So, if you're coming this year or hoping to come to the next one help us make this year's festival as brilliant as it should be without putting the organisers at personal financial risk and to make sure it can happen again and again!

With thanks to Sandy Sutherland, Bombskare and the Knoydart Music Festival Facebook fans for the images, and Kira Holroyd for the video.

And thanks to you too, for backing our project and sharing it with your friends and family.
