Just when I thought I had covered all the questions a little boy could possibly ask about death with 'Is Daddy Coming Back in a Minute?', Alex comes out with 'Mummy? What happened to Daddy's body?'
This will be a fully illustrated children's book explaining what happens after death in words very young children can understand. A sibling book to 'Is Daddy Coming Back in a Minute?'.
It is a much-needed resource for very young children, trying to understand and come to terms with the death of a loved one.
'What Happened to Daddy's Body?' explains cremation and burial in easy-to-understand, age-appropriate language and will be beautifully illustrated by the lovely Anna Jarvis, who illustrated our first book "Is Daddy Coming Back in a Minute?". We will also share in words and pictures what we chose to do with Martin's (my husband and Alex's dad) ashes.
The book will follow the same sort of format, pagination and look and feel. It will be full colour throughout.
Please help me raise enough money to cover the illustrator costs as well as the print costs. I would so dearly love to make this book happen, as I so desperately needed it four years ago. And it wasn't there.
If you want to find out more about the first book 'Is Daddy Coming Back in a Minute?', please check out www.isdaddycomingbackinaminute.com or read the review on http://www.amazon.co.uk/Daddy-Coming-Back-Minute-Explaining/dp/0957474504/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1362760234&sr=8-1
The target of £7000 is less than what is actually needed to make this book happen, but I am scared and a little embarrassed to ask for more. But, should we hit the target, please please please do not think that the extra money is not needed. It is, and will be used ONLY for the book or things directly linked to the book.
Expected project completion date: end of 2013/beginning of 2014 - hopefully earlier... :o)
Thank you.
